MKC began as an “Association of Independent Consultants” inspired by a European experience fostered by the late Catalonian engineer Rafael Escolá. Upon his retirement after a long and illustrious career, Escolá found himself still full of energy and ideas. He went into consulting for his former engineering firm based in Northern Spain and for others in several European countries. In time he discovered many other friends and former colleagues in his same situation, and founded with them a consulting group or association of retired professionals that garnered great success for those involved.
